Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in PostgreSQL to join our dynamic team. As part of our infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in shaping our innovative platform’s databases, ensuring seamless operation, optimization, and future scalability. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of iGaming and sports betting worldwide, using cutting-edge technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, maintain, and optimize database solutions to support our scalable platform.

• Oversee the database ecosystem, focusing on the PostgreSQL stack to ensure efficient operation.

• Monitor database health, performance, and resource utilization, ensuring high availability and durability using the Prometheus stack.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth database operations in all environments.

• Support the entire database lifecycle, including support, data flow, optimization, maintenance, and automations.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for databases using Terraform and Salt Stack.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts, resolving complex database issues in a timely and efficient manner.

• Maintain database security and develop strategies for disaster recovery.

• Automate database maintenance and operations through GitLab CI pipelines.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in a DBA or data engineering role, with 5+ years specifically in PostgreSQL.

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning, optimization, and administration.

• Strong experience with connection pooling and PgBouncer configuration.

• Experience with cloud database environments, especially GCP and AWS.

• Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code methods (Terraform, Salt Stack).

• Strong practice skills in Bash/Python/Go (any of these).

• Strong knowledge of the Prometheus stack (Thanos is a plus).

• Strong experience with database security and disaster recovery strategies.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
